Capital Ambulance presents a comprehensive and OSHAD-compliant training program in the UAE—Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). As an authorized Training Center for the American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI-HSI), we provide a scenario-based course tailored for proficient healthcare providers. This course is designed for professionals who either lead or actively engage in paediatric cardiopulmonary and resuscitation emergencies. Grounded in the latest science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), our program ensures excellence in paediatric emergency response.

Prerequisites:

Before enrolling in the PALS class, participants must have previous training, skills, and the ability to:

1. Perform high-quality paediatric basic life support (PBLS)

2. Read and interpret basic electrocardiograms (ECG)

3. Understand basic resuscitation pharmacology, including the preparation and administration of essential medications

Course Contents:

- Child CPR AED and Infant CPR

- Early Recognition of Cardiopulmonary Arrest

- Systematic Patient Recognition

- Team Dynamics Application

- Respiratory Distress and Failure: Differentiation and Early Interventions

- Compensated and Decompensated Shock Treatment: Differentiation and Early Interventions

- Stable and Unstable Patients with Arrhythmias: Differentiation

- Clinical Characteristics of Instability in Arrhythmia Patients

- Post–Cardiac Arrest Management

Required for Successful Completion:

- Written Evaluation: Participants are required to successfully complete a written evaluation as a component of the training.

- Performance Evaluation: Successful completion of five performance evaluations, comprising three PBLS and two PALS scenarios:

  - High-quality infant BLS

  - High-quality child BLS

  - Bag mask ventilation

  - Respiratory or shock case management

  - Cardiac case management

Certification

Upon successful completion of the PALS Course, including its essential components, participants will be awarded an ASHI certified PALS Provider course Completion Card, valid for two years.
